Privacy Policy

Account data. Your email address, password credentials (stored hashed by our authentication provider), and any name or school information you choose to add.

Syllabus and course content. The files you upload and the text extracted from them, plus the structured semester plan produced from that text: course names, assignment titles, exam dates, grading weights, and similar details.

Billing data. If you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment details. We receive a customer and subscription identifier, your plan status, and limited billing metadata such as the last four digits of your card and billing country. We never receive your full card number.

Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, used to keep the Service running, secure, and debuggable.

Messages you send us. Support emails and their contents.

When you upload a syllabus, we transmit its text and related course details to Anthropic, PBC through the Anthropic API so that a Claude model can identify assignments, exams, readings, and due dates. This transmission is required for the core function of the Service. If you do not want your syllabus content sent to Anthropic, do not upload it.

Anthropic processes this content as a service provider on our behalf. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, inputs and outputs submitted through its API are not used to train Anthropic’s models. Anthropic retains API inputs and outputs for a limited period for abuse monitoring and legal compliance purposes. Anthropic’s own practices are described in its privacy policy.

We do not use your uploaded content to train our own models, and we do not share it with other users.

Automated extraction can be wrong. Please verify every date against your official syllabus, as described in our Terms of Service.

Syllabi routinely contain personal information about someone other than you, most often an instructor’s name, office location, office hours, and email address. If you upload a syllabus, that information is processed and stored along with the rest of the document. Please remove anything you do not want processed before uploading, and do not upload documents containing other students’ grades or personally identifying records.

• to process payments, subscriptions, and refunds;
• to send transactional email such as sign-in links, receipts, deadline reminders, and service notices;
• to monitor security, prevent abuse, debug errors, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product;
• to respond to your support requests;
• to comply with legal obligations.

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, we rely on performance of our contract with you for account and core product functions, on legitimate interests for security and product improvement, on consent for optional marketing email, and on legal obligation where required.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share data only with the service providers listed below, each of which is contractually limited to processing it for us:

  Serves the application and processes request metadata such as IP address for delivery, security, and analytics.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

We keep your account data and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual syllabi and their extracted plans at any time from within the app.

When you delete your account, we delete your uploaded files and associated records from our production systems, ordinarily within 30 days. Encrypted backups may retain copies for a short additional period before they age out. Records we are required to keep, such as billing and tax records, are retained for the period the law requires.

Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest by our storage provider. Access to your rows is restricted at the database level so that your data is only readable by your authenticated account. Access to production systems is limited to people who need it.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required regulator as the law directs.

You can view and edit your account information in the app, export or delete your syllabi and semester plans, delete your account entirely, and unsubscribe from non-essential email using the link in those messages. Transactional messages tied to your account and billing cannot be turned off while your account is active.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, request a portable copy, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and appeal a denial of one of these requests. Residents of California and similar states have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

To make a request, email privacy@ecampusdesign.net. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

We use cookies and similar local storage that are necessary to run the Service, primarily to keep you signed in and to maintain session security. We use limited analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but the Service will not function properly without the essential ones.

We and our service providers are located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there, under standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism where required.

The Service is intended for users who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

eCampus Designis an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any college or university, and we are not a school official under FERPA. Your account is yours, not your institution’s, and we do not share your data with your school.

We will update this page when our practices change, including when we add or replace a service provider. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top and, where appropriate, by emailing you.
